Wherever a believer resides, there is a responsibility for good citizenship. Even in nations where following Jesus is dangerous, believers are called upon to make a positive impact on the nation.

Read 1 Timothy 2:1-2.

    No nation is perfect; and every nation, regardless of their religious orientation, will ultimately submit to Jesus as Lord.
    • Where do you see the Lordship of Jesus over the United States?
    • Where do you see open rebellion against the Lordship of Jesus in the United States?

    Isaiah 56:10 warns the people of God to be watchdogs of their culture, barking at the sight or smell of an intruder. “Speak up before it is too late.”

    1 Chronicles 7:14 contains a list of vital repairs to a nation who submits to the authority of God. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

    • On the list of vital repairs, how might they help strengthen and heal our nation?
